Ribadu Meets Top US Diplomat to Deepen Nigeria-US Security Partnership

Nigeria and the United States have reaffirmed their commitment to stronger security cooperation.

National Security Adviser Nuhu Ribadu has hosted a senior United States diplomat as Nigeria and the US move to strengthen bilateral security ties.

The meeting focused on expanding cooperation in key security areas and reinforcing ongoing dialogue between both countries. Ribadu said the discussions reflected the shared commitment of Nigeria and the United States to tackle common security challenges through closer collaboration.

According to the Office of the National Security Adviser, both sides agreed to sustain engagement on issues of mutual interest and deepen cooperation on shared security priorities.

The visiting diplomat, Garcia, recently assumed office after his confirmation filled a key US diplomatic position that had been vacant for more than a year.

Before joining the US State Department, Garcia served for nearly 30 years in the US Navy. He also held senior intelligence advisory roles in the US House of Representatives, bringing extensive national security experience to his new position.

The meeting highlights the growing strategic relationship between Nigeria and the United States as both countries seek stronger cooperation to address regional and global security concerns.
