Yunusa Tanko, national coordinator of the Obidient Movement worldwide, says Peter Obi is engaged in high-level consultations with political allies amid reports of a possible defection.
In a statement on Saturday, Tanko said Obi is holding extensive engagements with key stakeholders to determine his next political move.
He said the consultations involve political allies and aligned groups across the country and in the diaspora.
“Peter Obi is currently engaged in extensive, high-level consultations with key stakeholders, political allies, and aligned movements,” he said.
Tanko said the discussions are aimed at identifying the most strategic path forward.
“These engagements are focused on determining the most effective path in the best interest of Nigerians and our shared mission,” he said.
He urged supporters to remain calm and ignore speculation.
“We urge all Obidients to remain calm, patient, and focused. Do not be swayed by speculative reports,” he said.
Tanko said Obi will address the public after concluding the consultations.
“Peter Obi remains committed to this mission and will, in due course, formally address the public to provide clarity,” he added.
His statement comes amid reports linking Obi to a possible move to another political platform.
