Alex Otti says he has received a free governorship nomination form from the leadership of the Labour Party ahead of the next election in Abia State.

In a post on X on Friday, Otti said the nomination form was presented to him by the national working committee (NWC) of the party at the Abia governor’s lodge in Asokoro, Abuja.

According to the governor, the form was handed over by Nenadi Usman alongside other members of the party leadership.

“Today, I was greatly honoured to receive a free nomination form from the National Working Committee of the Labour Party, presented by our National Chairman, Senator Nenadi Usman, at the Abia State Governor’s Lodge in Asokoro, Abuja,” he wrote.

Otti thanked the party leadership for the gesture and pledged continued support for the Labour Party.

“I assure you that I do not take this gesture lightly,” he said.

“I pledge never to disappoint the Labour Party and will continue to support it in every possible way.”

The governor also commended Usman for what he described as efforts to stabilise the party after its internal crisis.

“I commend Senator Usman for her leadership in steering our party out of the protracted crisis that once plagued it,” he said.

“Today, I am confident that the coast is clear for the Labour Party to move forward into the next general elections, as all legal impediments have been effectively resolved, with no subsisting litigation against our party.”

Otti dedicated the recognition to residents of Abia state and supporters of his administration.

“To the good people of Abia State and our numerous well-wishers, this recognition belongs to you,” he said.

“Our journey continues with renewed energy and firm resolve.”
