Nigerian dancer and socialite is reportedly on remand in the United Kingdom. The dancer is expected to appear before the Snaresbrook Crown Court on September 15, 2026. His court appearance is scheduled for 10am. The development was confirmed by Benjamin Kuti, also known as the Oluomo of Derby. Kuti is the founder of the community of Nigerians in the United Kingdom.
Kuti said Poco Lee is currently being held in a UK prison. He also said the dancer is expected to attend a plea hearing. During such a hearing, an accused person usually enters a guilty or not-guilty plea.
“I can confirm that the reports are true. Poco Lee is currently on remand in a UK prison,” Kuti said.
He added that he plans to attend the proceedings and support the Nigerian entertainer.
According to Kuti, he regularly attends court proceedings involving Nigerians in the UK. He said his presence would help ensure Poco Lee gets proper support.
“It is important that we allow the legal process to take its course,” he said.
Kuti also stressed that everyone remains innocent until proven guilty by a court. Therefore, the allegations against Poco Lee have not been proven.
Meanwhile, reports about Poco Lee’s alleged detention first surfaced online on August 19. However, early reports did not reveal the alleged complainant’s identity. They also gave little information about the reported incident. At the time, UK police and the court had not publicly confirmed the arrest.
