Bayo Onanuga, special adviser to President Bola Tinubu on information and strategy, has criticised Peter Obi over his defection to the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), describing him as a “political nomad”.
In a post on X on Sunday, Onanuga dismissed Obi’s reasons for leaving his former party, saying they were not convincing.
“We told you so. The political nomad is on the move again,” he wrote.
Onanuga described Obi as opportunistic and unwilling to compete within established political structures.
“He can’t fight for the ticket… he pursues the easy road,” he said.
He also accused Obi of blaming the government for his political challenges instead of taking responsibility.
“He always blames the government without doing a soul-searching of himself,” he added.
Onanuga welcomed Obi to the 2027 presidential race, saying his latest move would not change the outcome.
