Obamuyi expressed satisfaction with the university's current condition but said there was room for significant improvement. "Having gone round, my impressions are good, but we need to improve on what we have on the ground." He added that his return to the university marked the beginning of efforts to address long-standing challenges. "My leaving the university was a period of preparation, and my coming is the solution to the challenges that we have here." Sustainable funding plans Obamuyi said the university would adopt innovative and sustainable funding strategies to support infrastructure development and maintenance. He explained that improving physical facilities would remain one of the administration's immediate priorities. The vice-chancellor also disclosed that he had met with principal officers, heads of departments and other stakeholders. Those engagements, he said, focused on presenting his vision and setting a new direction for the institution. Immediate action begins Speaking on his short-term plans, Obamuyi said he had directed relevant units to address identified challenges without delay. He added that each unit received clear deadlines to ensure prompt implementation of assigned responsibilities. "I have directed all concerned units, and I have given them deadlines. When I give instructions, I monitor them." The vice-chancellor expressed confidence that members of the university community would begin to see noticeable improvements in the coming weeks. "We are going to be seeing some changes very soon." Obamuyi said his administration remains committed to strengthening the university's infrastructure and improving overall service delivery through effective leadership and sustainable planning.
