Late Nollywood actor Taiwo Hassan Ogogo has been laid to rest in his hometown, Ilaro, Ogun State. His burial was marked by tears, grief and emotional tributes from loved ones.
The actor died on Sunday at the age of 66. According to veteran actor Jide Kosoko, Taiwo passed away around 3pm. He also confirmed that the actor would be buried in Ilaro, his hometown.
Hours later, Taiwo’s remains arrived in Ilaro in a Sienna vehicle. Family members, religious leaders and sympathisers gathered to receive him. His body was later taken to the Central Mosque, Ilaro, for prayers and final rites.
Meanwhile, his burial attracted several Nollywood stars and close friends. His daughters were seen crying as they watched their father’s final journey. Colleagues also struggled to hold back their tears during the emotional ceremony.
Among those present were Yinka Quadri, Jide Kosoko, Ireti Osayemi, Femi Adebayo, Fausat Balogun and Faithia Williams. Saidi Balogun, Kolawole Ajeyemi, Abbey Lane and Bisi Ibidapo were also spotted. Their presence showed the deep impact Taiwo had on the industry.
