Yinka Quadri was overcome with emotion as he arrived at the burial site of his longtime friend, Taiwo Hassan Ogogo. The veteran actor could not hold back his tears during the burial rites in Ilaro, Ogun State. Taiwo Hassan died on Sunday at 66 after battling stage 4 cancer. His burial is taking place according to Islamic rites, with friends and colleagues gathering to honour him.
Several Nollywood stars also attended the burial to pay their final respects. They include Jide Kosoko, Fausat Balogun, Faithia Williams and Kolawole Ajeyemi. Yinka Quadri’s emotional moment showed how deeply the actor’s death has affected those close to him. Beyond being colleagues, the pair shared a strong friendship built over many years.
Meanwhile, Femi Adebayo also struggled to control his emotions while speaking about Taiwo Hassan. He described the late actor as a great man who fought hard to stay alive. Fuji stars K1 and Malaika equally broke down while performing. Actress Bimbo Thomas also mourned the veteran, saying the news was painful and that “God is unquestionable.”
Before his death, Taiwo Hassan’s daughters had raised concerns about his health. Kira revealed that her father was battling stage 4 cancer and needed urgent medical help. Another daughter, Lima, said hospitals were refusing to treat him. They appealed for medical experts and stressed that they were not seeking financial support.
Yinka Quadri later thanked people for their support and said they received hundreds of offers from spiritual and traditional healers. However, moving the actor from the hospital had become difficult at that stage.
