President Bola Tinubu has begun a three-week annual leave and departed Abuja for Europe.
Presidential spokesperson Bayo Onanuga announced the trip in a statement on Sunday. He said Tinubu would spend the period on what the government described as a “working vacation”.
According to Onanuga, the President’s first stop will be London, United Kingdom. Tinubu will spend three weeks away from Nigeria before returning to the country. He will then resume official activities as preparations for the 2027 general elections gather pace.
Tinubu begins annual leave
Onanuga said the trip forms part of Tinubu’s annual leave.
“President Bola Ahmed Tinubu will depart Abuja today for Europe to begin a three-week vacation as part of his annual leave,” the statement said.
The presidential spokesperson also confirmed London as the President’s first destination. Tinubu’s trip comes as political activities continue to build ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Onanuga issued the statement in his role as Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy.
