Former Minister of Humanitarian Affairs, Dr Betta Edu, says President Bola Tinubu will win the 2027 presidential election. Edu made the statement during the 2026 Pre-Inaugural Women’s Summit and Empowerment Programme in Abuja.
The event took place at the Bola Ahmed Tinubu International Conference Centre. First Lady Oluremi Tinubu convened the summit under the theme, “Renewed Hope Agenda 2.0: From Reforms to Prosperity – One Voice, One Movement, One Choice, One Mandate 2027.”
Edu said APC women had started mobilisation across Nigeria ahead of the election.
According to Edu, the mobilisation targets 40 million women’s votes across the country. She said the campaign will cover all 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory. It will also reach 774 local government areas, wards, communities and polling units.
“Our target is 40 million women’s votes, and we are building the organisation required to achieve it. President Tinubu will win again,” Edu said.
Meanwhile, Edu said the campaign would focus on more than political rallies. She highlighted opportunities for women in business, agriculture, skills development and governance. She also urged APC women to stay united and organised. The event featured an empowerment programme for women, with beneficiaries receiving motorbikes and farm trucks.
First Lady Oluremi Tinubu presented some of the items. Later, she met female APC candidates and other party stakeholders behind closed doors. The programme also drew senior APC figures, including Nana Shettima, Abdulaziz Yari, Hope Uzodimma and Umar Ganduje.
