Uriel Oputa Jokes About Breaking Her Thumb While Blocking Admirer

Former Big Brother Naija star Uriel Oputa has sparked reactions online after joking that she broke her thumb while blocking a man who declared his love for her. The reality TV star shared a photo of her thumb and explained how the funny incident happened. According to Uriel, she decided to check her Instagram direct messages after people kept telling her she was “too picky” when it comes to relationships.

She said one message caught her attention because it started on a sweet note. The admirer wrote:

“Hi Uriel, I’ve admired you for years. You’re beautiful. I can love you in more ways than you’ve ever been loved.”

Uriel admitted she became interested and decided to keep reading. However, the conversation quickly changed when the man added:

“I don’t have any money, and I can’t give you the things you want…”

That was enough for the chef and media personality. She hilariously replied:

“My finger hit the block so fast I nearly dislocated my thumb. In this economy? I block him in Jesus’ name.”

Meanwhile, Uriel recently got fans talking after reacting to a viral video of American rapper Cardi B and Nigerian goalkeeper Maduka Okoye. She questioned whether people still take time to heal after relationships before moving on. According to her, many now seem comfortable embracing new love almost immediately. Her comments started another conversation about healing, dating, and finding love in today’s world.

This is not the first time Uriel has spoken openly about relationships. She has previously said finding a decent man in Nigeria is difficult because many men are complicated. She also revealed that her desperation to get married once affected her emotionally. In another post, she advised women to stop doing too much to prove they are good partners, only to end up heartbroken. Uriel has also warned admirers not to assume she lacks standards because she does not flaunt luxury online. She believes confidence, self-worth, and knowing what you want should always come first.
