Brazilian football star Vinicius Junior is back in the spotlight, but this time it is not because of football. The Real Madrid winger has left fans talking after showing off a noticeably different face. Photos from a recent public appearance quickly went viral. Many supporters spotted changes around his chin and jawline. As a result, social media was filled with reactions and questions. The new look came only weeks after Brazil’s disappointing exit from the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
According to reports from the New York Post, citing Brazilian celebrity outlet TMC, Vinicius underwent a cosmetic procedure at a specialist clinic in Goiânia. The treatment was carried out by dermatologist and cosmetic doctor Dr Alessandro Alarcão. Reports say the procedure reshaped and defined the footballer’s chin using modern facial contouring techniques.
Dr. Alarcão thanks Vinicius for his trust
The goal was to give his face a sharper and more balanced appearance while keeping a natural look. Later, Dr Alarcão confirmed on social media that Vinicius had undergone what he called “facial naturalization” surgery. He also thanked the player for his trust, describing him as “a talented footballer with kindness, simplicity and positive energy.”
Fans first noticed the change after Vinicius appeared at the opening of a gym owned by his girlfriend, Virginia Fonseca. Pictures from the event spread across Instagram and X within hours. Soon after, discussions about his transformation dominated football and entertainment pages. While many praised his fresh appearance, others were simply surprised by the dramatic difference. Either way, the Brazilian winger once again became one of the internet’s biggest talking points.
Vinicius’ painful World Cup exit
Meanwhile, Vinicius is still dealing with Brazil’s painful World Cup exit. The Seleção crashed out in the Round of 16 after a 2-1 defeat to Norway despite the Real Madrid star scoring four goals during the tournament. Speaking after taking time to reflect, Vinicius admitted the loss was difficult to accept.
“Wearing the national team shirt is the greatest pride of my life, and going out of a World Cup in the Round of 16 is a feeling that is hard to explain,” he said.
He also added,
“The feeling of frustration is absurd. We had a group strong enough to do more, and we couldn’t.”
Now, attention shifts back to club football as Vinicius prepares to return to Real Madrid for preseason and another demanding campaign.
