17 House of Reps members defect from ADC to NDC

Seventeen members of the House of Representatives have defected from the African Democratic Congress (ADC) to the Nigerian Democratic Congress (NDC).

The defections were announced on the floor of the house during plenary on Tuesday.

The development comes a day after Peter Obi and Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso moved from the ADC to the NDC, signalling fresh political realignments ahead of the 2027 general election.

Also announced during plenary was the defection of Leke Abejide from the ADC to the All Progressives Congress (APC).

The lawmakers who defected to the NDC include Yusuf Datti Baba-Ahmed, Uchenna Okonkwo, Adamu Wakili, Thaddeus Attah, George Ozodinobi, Lilian Orogbu, Oluwaseyi Sowunmi, Peter Aniekwe, Mukhtar Zakari, George Oluwande and Munachim Umezuruike.

Others are Emeka Idu, Jesse Onuakalusi, Ifeanyi Uzokwe, Afam Ogene and Abdulhakeem Ado.
