Isaac Fayose says Peter Obi will win Abuja in 2027 and challenges Wike’s claim about the FCT. He also alleges secret APC support for NDC.
Social commentator Isaac Fayose has claimed that Peter Obi will win the 2027 presidential election in Abuja. Fayose made the claim during an interview with News Central TV on Tuesday.
His comments followed a recent statement by FCT Minister Nyesom Wike. Wike had said the opposition lacks strong support in Abuja. He also claimed President Bola Tinubu would win both Rivers State and the Federal Capital Territory. Obi became the NDC presidential candidate in May 2026.
Fayose rejected Wike’s position and declared,
“Abuja is NDC, Abuja is Peter Obi.”
He also alleged that attempts could be made to manipulate election results. According to him, the NDC has plans to protect its votes across polling units.
“People are ready to vote,” he said.
“All we are scared of now is what angle are they going to suppress us from this time?”
Meanwhile, Fayose claimed five APC governors are secretly supporting the NDC. He said the governors would not openly campaign because they remain APC members.
Fayose also alleged that they offered ₦200,000 per polling unit to support election agents in Rivers and the FCT. Those claims have not been independently verified. The governors were not named, and no public confirmation has emerged from them.
Fayose also urged Nigerians to pay closer attention to voters’ opinions before the election.
“Go to the street and try to talk to one or two people. Ask them, ‘Who are you going to vote for?’” he said.
His comments add to the growing political debate ahead of the 2027 presidential election.
