President Tinubu Celebrates Lebara’s Launch in Nigeria

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has congratulated Lebara Nigeria on its official launch. Calling it a testament to Nigeria’s thriving digital economy and its position as a top technology and investment hub in Africa.

However, Nigeria’s telecommunications sector continues to drive economic growth. Recording a 5.78% year-on-year increase in Q3 2025 and contributing over 14% to the nation’s GDP.

The President praised Lebara Nigeria’s leadership, including Chief Executive Mrs. Teniola Stuffma. For their dedication to expanding telecom access, creating jobs, and enhancing digital infrastructure. He emphasized that such investments are vital for boosting financial inclusion, fostering innovation, and accelerating economic progress.

President Tinubu also acknowledged the British High Commission’s support. Represented by Deputy High Commissioner Mr. Johny Baxter, highlighting the strong economic and diplomatic ties between Nigeria and the UK. Also, He noted that collaborations like these reflect Nigeria’s openness to responsible foreign investment and global partnerships.

Additionally, the President commended the contributions of Otunba Bimbo Ashiru. Chairman of the Advisory Board, and other board members for their expertise and confidence in Nigeria’s growth potential.

He stated that initiatives like Lebara Nigeria play a key role in job creation, youth empowerment. Enterprise development, and economic diversification. President Tinubu reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to creating a stable, transparent. And investment-friendly environment where innovation and private enterprise can thrive.

Additionally, As Lebara Nigeria begins operations, President Tinubu wished the company success and encouraged continued collaboration. Between public and private sectors to advance Nigeria’s digital transformation agenda.
