Actor Shia LaBeouf Arrested Again in New Orleans on Battery Charge

Shia LaBeouf engaged in a physical altercation outside a New Orleans bar during Mardi Gras celebrations. Police responded to the scene at Royal Street Inn and R Bar near the French Quarter on February 17.

Witnesses reported that LaBeouf became aggressive and assaulted multiple people. Furthermore, a video captured the actor shirtless as he shoved one individual to the ground and struck another in the face.

Arrest and Additional Charge

Authorities arrested LaBeouf initially on two counts of simple battery for the incident. Then, police took him into custody again on February 28. They charged him with one more misdemeanor count of simple battery.

Records showed that a third person came forward with allegations, prompting the rearrest. meanwhile LaBeouf bonded out later that day.

Allegations of Slurs and Assault

Reports detailed that LaBeouf repeatedly used homophobic slurs during the brawl. One victim suffered a possible dislocated nose from the punch. Jeffrey Damnit, a local entertainer identified as Jeffrey Klein in police reports, described the attack.

He stated, “He hit me, he connected a few times with punches, he pushed me a few times.”

Court Orders Treatment

LaBeouf appeared in court on February 26. Judge Levine increased his bond to $100,000. Additionally, the judge mandated weekly drug and alcohol testing. LaBeouf received orders for alcohol treatment and to stay away from the victims and the bar. His attorney confirmed the new arrest connected to the same event.

LaBeouf Addresses Behavior

LaBeouf reflected on the incident in a recent statement. He denied having a drinking problem and attributed his actions to a Napoleon complex. Moreover he described his behavior as “dirty, ugly, disgusting” and admitted he was not in his right mind during the altercation. This marked another legal issue for the actor amid ongoing scrutiny.
