Tinubu Appoints New PTDF Boss, Renews TCN CEO Tenure

President Bola Tinubu has appointed Professor Shu’aibu Shehu Aliyu as the new Executive Secretary of the Petroleum Technology Development Fund (PTDF).

Aliyu replaces Ahmed Galadima Aminu, who stepped down to pursue his governorship ambition in Adamawa State ahead of the 2027 elections.

The new PTDF boss previously served as Executive Secretary of the National Commission for Mass Literacy, bringing strong experience in education, research, and administration.

Tinubu Renews TCN Chief’s Tenure

In a related move, the President approved a second and final term for Engineer Sule Ahmed Abdulaziz as Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of the Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN).

The renewal follows a performance review that highlighted improvements in Nigeria’s power transmission network under his leadership.

Focus on Energy Sector Growth

The presidency said Aliyu’s appointment reflects a commitment to strengthening Nigeria’s petroleum sector through human capital development and innovation. He is expected to reposition PTDF to better support the oil and gas industry.

Meanwhile, Abdulaziz’s continued leadership is expected to sustain progress in grid stability, capacity expansion, and modernization of the national electricity system.

Aligning with National Agenda

Both appointments take immediate effect and are aligned with the administration’s Renewed Hope Agenda.

President Tinubu has urged the appointees to serve with diligence, integrity, and a strong sense of national duty, as Nigeria continues to strengthen key institutions in its energy and power sectors.
