Former employee sues Beast Industries over harassment claims

A former employee has filed a lawsuit accusing MrBeast’s company of sexual harassment, gender bias, and wrongful dismissal after maternity leave.

A former staff member of Beast Industries has sued the company behind MrBeast, alleging years of workplace discrimination and sexual harassment.

Lorrayne Mavromatis filed the lawsuit in federal court in North Carolina. She claims she was fired from her role as social media manager shortly after returning from maternity leave.

According to the complaint, Mavromatis says she continued working immediately after giving birth and even while in the delivery room. She said she returned to work full time, only to be dismissed less than three weeks later.

The lawsuit also accuses the company of violating federal protections that allow eligible workers to take unpaid, job-protected leave for childbirth and medical reasons. She has also filed a complaint with the US Equal Employment Opportunity Commission alleging discrimination based on sex, pregnancy, and retaliation.

Beast Industries denied the claims. A company spokesperson described the lawsuit as a “clout-chasing complaint” containing false statements. The company said her role was removed during an internal restructuring led by a new ecommerce executive.

The case adds to previous scrutiny over workplace culture inside Beast Industries. In 2024, the company said it had taken steps to improve staff safety after an outside investigation found isolated cases of harassment and misconduct.

MrBeast, whose real name is Jimmy Donaldson, remains one of the world’s biggest online creators, with growing business interests in television, entertainment, and finance.

The lawsuit now places renewed attention on how fast-growing creator-led companies manage workplace culture and employee rights.
