Iran vows to protect nuclear program, warns US over Persian gulf

Iran’s leadership has issued a firm warning, pledging to defend its nuclear capabilities and push back against foreign influence.

Mojtaba Khamenei said Iran will “guard” its nuclear and missile program despite pressure from the United States and Israel.

In a statement marking National Persian Gulf Day, Khamenei said the future of the Persian Gulf would be shaped without American involvement. He also pledged that Iran would secure the region and prevent foreign misuse of the strategic waterway.

Khamenei, who recently assumed leadership after the death of his father, made clear that Iran sees its military and nuclear program as non-negotiable. He added that regional countries share a common destiny and should not be influenced by outside powers.

Separately, Iran’s naval commander Shahram Irani warned that Tehran is ready to take “swift and decisive action” if conflict resumes. He also claimed Iran has tightened control over the Strait of Hormuz.

The remarks come amid heightened tensions in the Middle East and ongoing disputes over Iran’s nuclear ambitions and regional security.
