Beneficiaries of the Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFund) in Anambra State have endorsed President Bola Tinubu for a second term, donating N10.7 million towards his 2027 expression of interest form.
The students made the presentation on Friday at Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University, Igbariam campus.
According to the students, the gesture reflects appreciation for the impact of the student loan scheme on access to higher education and the reduction of financial pressure on students.
Ifeanyichukwu Chukwuemeka, chairman of the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) joint campus council in Anambra, said beneficiaries of the scheme collectively decided to support Tinubu’s re-election bid.
“We, the beneficiaries of the NELFund scheme, are collectively endorsing President Bola Tinubu for a second term in office,” he said.
Chukwuemeka added that the N10,735,500 donation represents a “symbolic expression of gratitude” for Tinubu’s education reforms and youth-focused policies.
The NELFund scheme was introduced by the federal government to provide interest-free loans to Nigerian students in tertiary institutions.
