Rashford seals La Liga title for Barcelona in El Clásico

Marcus Rashford hands Barcelona the Spanish league title against rivals.

Barcelona are La Liga champions again after dismantling Real Madrid 2-0 at Spotify Camp Nou on Sunday night.

Marcus Rashford, on loan from Manchester United, was the man of the moment. The English forward stepped up in the first half to curl a stunning free-kick beyond Thibaut Courtois and into the top corner. Ferran Torres doubled the lead minutes later, latching onto a brilliant flick from Dani Olmo to finish coolly inside the box. Barcelona’s two-goal lead was in place in just 20 minutes.

Madrid never recovered. A club already in turmoil — following a reported dressing room bust-up between Aurélien Tchouaméni and Fede Valverde and another trophy-less season. Jude Bellingham had a goal disallowed for offside after the break, but that was as close as Los Blancos came. Courtois kept the score respectable with second-half stops from Ferran Torres and Robert Lewandowski, but it mattered little.

The 2-0 win opens an unassailable 14-point gap between the two sides, making Barcelona’s title mathematically confirmed. It is their second consecutive La Liga crown.

Barcelona needed just a point to be crowned champions. They took all three leaving Madrid broke in the process.
