Sowore to Kwankwaso: Your daughter should run for president — she knows better

Omoyele Sowore, publisher of Sahara Reporters and former Presidential candidate of the African Action Congress (AAC), has mocked Rabiu Kwankwaso over comments that his daughter advised him to work with Peter Obi during the 2023 election.

In a post on X on Tuesday, Sowore said Kwankwaso’s daughter appeared to understand Nigeria’s political realities better than the former governor himself.

“Mr. Kwankwaso, if your daughter now has to tell you who to work for in 2027, then perhaps she, who obviously knows better than you according to your own postulation, should be the one running for president,” he wrote.

The former presidential candidate of the AAC also accused Kwankwaso of political decline, saying he has become politically “atrophied.”

Sowore’s comments followed Kwankwaso’s interview on ARISE News on Monday night, where the former Kano governor revealed that his daughter urged him to align politically with Obi during the 2023 election.

“You will be surprised, even in the 2023 election, in my own house, my own daughter was telling me to go and work with Peter Obi,” Kwankwaso had said.

The former Kano governor also signalled his readiness to work with Obi politically, including serving as his deputy if necessary.

The former governor made the remarks while discussing changing political realities in Nigeria and the growing influence of younger voters.
