Programme Targets Learners Across Different Sectors
DecisionSpaak Group has launched a N50 million Artificial Intelligence scholarship programme. The initiative aims to improve AI literacy across Africa. It also seeks to prepare people for the future of work.
The organisation announced the programme during The Spaak Conference 2026. The virtual event gathered innovators, entrepreneurs, creators, and tech leaders from four continents.
According to the company, the scholarship will support students. It will also benefit working professionals and retirees. These groups can use AI in their careers and daily lives.
Funding Increased After Partner Support
DecisionSpaak said the scholarship started as a N5 million project. Later, it rose to N50 million. Support from partner organisations across Africa made the increase possible.
The organisation said the initiative supports its wider goal. It plans to equip 10 million Africans with essential AI skills.
President and Chief Executive Officer, Philip Ade-Akanbi, said the expansion shows a stronger commitment to digital education.
He said AI education must become easier to access. He added that technology now plays a bigger role in jobs and businesses.
Conference Highlights Innovation and Growth
The conference carried the theme, Reinventing Human Possibility. Speakers discussed artificial intelligence. They also explored work, public services, decentralised design, and daily technology use.
Ade-Akanbi said the event was created to promote learning. It also supports collaboration and fresh ideas.
“The Spaak Conference is more than an event. It creates room for innovation, dialogue, and opportunities,” he said.
He added that expanding the scholarship would help more Africans gain digital knowledge. It would also support future problem-solvers.
Focus on Connecting Talent With Global Opportunities
DecisionSpaak described the conference as a growing platform. It aims to link African talent with the global innovation space.
The organisation said it also encourages technology-based solutions to social challenges.
Applications for the scholarship are now open. Students, professionals, and lifelong learners can apply.
