Alex Otti, governor of Abia State, says his administration has commissioned 14 newly completed road projects across Aba in Abia State.

In an X post on Wednesday, Otti said the roads span Osisioma, Aba North and Aba South LGAs.

According to the governor, the projects reflect his administration’s commitment to transforming Aba and expanding the state’s economy.

“Yesterday in Aba, we commissioned 14 newly completed road projects across Osisioma, Aba North, and Aba South LGAs,” he wrote.

The roads commissioned include Aro Amano–Eke Aro Road, Adaelu Road, Geometric Road, Afule Road, Assemblies of God Church Road, Nwogu Ajagba Street, Nwala Street, Sacred Heart Street, Elizabeth Avenue, Nigerian Brewery Ring Road, Etche Road, Mosque Road, Crystal Park Road and Kingdom Hall Street.

Otti said the projects would improve connectivity, reduce traffic congestion and support industrial growth in Aba.

The governor said Geometric Road, which was previously in poor condition, has now become a hub for industries and businesses.

“Today, it stands transformed, lined with industries and opportunities,” he said.

He added that Afule Road was constructed as a bypass to ease pressure on the Aba–Owerri Road.

Otti also announced the flag-off of the first phase of the Aba Ring Road project under the Greater Aba Development Authority (GADA).

According to him, the 4.9-kilometre project will decongest Aba and improve access to neighbouring states such as Akwa Ibom State and Cross River State.

The governor said the roads were built with drainage systems, streetlights and durable infrastructure.

“As we mark three years in office, these projects are proof of growth and progress,” he said.

“Aba is rising, and together we are shaping the future Abia deserves.”
