An Israeli air strike in central Gaza City has killed Hamas military commander Mohammed Odeh, according to local sources and Israeli officials.
Hamas military commander Mohammed Odeh was killed in an Israeli strike on a residential building in Gaza City on Tuesday, days after his predecessor was also killed in a separate attack.
Local medics said at least three Palestinians died and dozens were injured when multiple missiles hit the al-Kayali building. Hamas sources and relatives later confirmed that Odeh, his wife and their adult son were killed in the strike.
The Israel Defense Forces and Shin Bet security agency said the operation targeted buildings used as hideouts by Odeh. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu described Odeh as “one of the architects” of the 7 October attacks.
Despite a ceasefire agreed in October, violence has continued across Gaza, with Israel carrying out regular strikes targeting Hamas operatives.
The latest strike adds to growing tensions in the region as ceasefire talks remain stalled and fighting continues.
