Bovi Explains Why He Celebrates Divorce, Opens Up on 17-Year Marriage

Bovi Shares Views on Divorce

Nigerian comedian Bovi Ugboma has stirred conversations online after sharing his perspective on divorce during an appearance on The Morayo Show.

During the interview, Bovi explained that he does not see divorce as a failure in every situation. Instead, he believes it can sometimes offer a healthier path for people trapped in unhappy relationships.

According to him, he celebrates divorce when it happens because it often signals that one or both partners can no longer flourish within the marriage.

“I celebrate when people get a divorce. It means one or both people are not breathing well in that space,” he said.

Furthermore, he stressed that he would never choose to suffer for anyone in a relationship. Likewise, he would not expect another person to endure unhappiness because of him.

“I will not suffer for anybody, and I don’t want anybody to suffer for me,” he added.

Comedian Reflects on His Marriage Journey

Despite his comments, Bovi quickly clarified that he was not encouraging divorce. Instead, he used the opportunity to reflect on the realities of marriage.

The comedian revealed that he has been married for 17 years and acknowledged that the journey has come with its own challenges.

According to him, marriage requires commitment, patience, and continuous effort.

“That does not mean my marriage has been easy for 17 years. It has not. I got married when I was 29 years old,” he said.

Meanwhile, show host Morayo Brown commended him for supporting his family over the years.

In response, Bovi jokingly remarked that he had been providing for his family continuously throughout that period, drawing laughter from the audience.
