Colombia Beat Ghana to Reach World Cup Last 16

Colombia secured a deserved victory over Ghana to advance to the FIFA World Cup last 16.

The last-32 match ended 1-0 after Jhon Arias scored the only goal in the 14th minute. Luis Suarez provided the cross, and Arias finished with a controlled volley to give Colombia the lead they never surrendered.

Colombia dominated the contest, creating several clear chances but failing to extend their advantage. Ghana struggled throughout the match and failed to register a single shot on target, ending their World Cup campaign with just four total attempts on goal across four matches.

The result sends Colombia into the last 16, where they will face Switzerland. Ghana exit the tournament as another African side eliminated in the knockout stage, with only Morocco and Egypt still in the competition.

Colombia now turn their attention to Switzerland as they continue their bid for a first FIFA World Cup title.
