Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce added another romantic chapter to their love story with a special wedding getaway car. The newlyweds used a customized 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle SS convertible after their lavish wedding at Madison Square Garden. Even better, the vintage muscle car carried a touching message that fans quickly noticed.
Page Six shared exclusive footage of the classic car outside the venue a day after the ceremony. The maroon convertible featured a New York plate reading “JST&T MRD,” a short way of saying “Just Married.” Soon after, a worker drove the car out before it was loaded onto a transport truck.
Interestingly, the car also honoured the couple’s first public date in September 2023. Back then, Kelce drove Swift away from Arrowhead Stadium in his own burgundy Chevrolet Chevelle SS after a Kansas City Chiefs victory. The pair later joined friends for a private celebration in Kansas City.
Long before the romance became public, Kelce had proudly spoken about the vintage car on his New Heights podcast. Speaking with his brother, Jason Kelce, he said,
“That thing sounds so mean coming around the corner and it looks sweet.”
Besides the Chevelle, the NFL star owns several luxury cars, including a Rolls-Royce Ghost, an Aston Martin Vanquish, and a Mercedes-AMG G63. Without doubt, the classic convertible remains one of his favourites because of its sentimental value.
Meanwhile, Swift and Kelce exchanged vows before about 1,000 family members, friends, and celebrity guests at Madison Square Garden. According to Swift’s longtime publicist, Tree Paine, actor Adam Sandler officiated the ceremony.
The couple also skipped the traditional bridal party. Instead, Swift’s brother, Austin, served as her “Man of Honor,” while Jason Kelce stood beside his younger brother as “Best Man.”
From the heartfelt ceremony to the meaningful getaway car, every detail reflected the couple’s journey together
