Nollywood actress Iyabo Ojo has sparked fresh conversations after revealing what she believes keeps her looking young at 48. During an interview on The Morayo Show with Morayo Afolabi-Brown, the actress shared that happiness matters more than relationship status. According to her, being single or married does not guarantee peace. Instead, she believes the right partner makes the difference. She then added with a laugh,
“Sex has a lot to do with a woman’s glow. I’m getting more than enough. Maybe those with marriage certificates aren’t getting enough.”
The actress also opened up about her relationship with talent manager Paul “Paul O” Okoye. She described their relationship as one built on maturity, respect, and understanding. Although they have disagreements, she said they always find a way to move forward.
“We’re two mature people and two very busy people. The most important thing is to understand each other, support each other, and respect each other’s space,” she explained.
Iyabo first introduced Paul O as her partner in 2022, and she says she remains happy with him.
Speaking about her previous marriage, Iyabo made a shocking revelation. She disclosed that the marriage should have ended on her wedding night. However, she stayed longer before finally leaving in 2001. The union produced two children, Felix and Priscilla. Looking back today, she believes leaving was the best decision.
“If I had stayed, probably my kids wouldn’t be where they are today,” she said.
The actress added that her decision was never about herself. Instead, she wanted peace of mind and a better future for her children. She also hinted that fans will hear more about that chapter of her life in her upcoming book and next cinema movie.
Beyond her personal life, Iyabo said her successful career gives her a strong sense of fulfilment. She also admitted that becoming a grandmother has changed her approach to public controversies. According to her, she now chooses her battles carefully to protect her daughter’s peace. Even so, she made it clear she will always speak up whenever it truly matters.
