Police have killed two suspected kidnappers and launched a manhunt for other fleeing gang members in Ondo state.
The Ondo State Police Command says two suspected kidnappers were neutralised during a security operation carried out by its Anti-Kidnapping Squad. The case has since been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (CID) for a detailed investigation.
Police spokesperson DSP Olayinka Ayanlade said efforts are ongoing to arrest other members of the gang, who reportedly escaped with gunshot wounds during the operation.
The command urged hospitals, healthcare workers and residents to report anyone seeking treatment for gunshot injuries or displaying suspicious behaviour to the nearest police station.
Police say the operation is part of ongoing efforts to tackle kidnapping and improve security across Ondo State.
