Peller speaks on DJ Chicken’s emotional Kirikiri Prison experience, says online fame disappears when real-life problems begin.
Popular TikTok creator Peller has shared an emotional story about controversial streamer DJ Chicken after his court appearance. According to Peller, he watched as DJ Chicken was taken to the Kirikiri Correctional Centre. The experience changed how he sees internet fame. He said online support quickly disappears when someone faces real-life problems. His comments have now sparked fresh reactions across social media.
Speaking in a viral video, Peller said DJ Chicken looked nothing like his usual energetic self. He claimed the content creator became calm and quiet after the court ordered his remand. Peller said,
“I was there when DJ Chicken was sent to Kirikiri prison. He was humble. All his fans and people on his livestream were not there. He went to face the reality alone.”
He added,
“They said we’re idiots, not celebrities. Everybody will be pushing you online but you’ll suffer alone.”
Many fans described the statement as a strong reminder about the limits of internet popularity.
Meanwhile, DJ Chicken, whose real name is Ademola, is standing trial before an Ikeja Magistrate Court. He is facing charges linked to alleged threats against Seyi Tinubu, the son of President Bola Tinubu. Prosecutors also accused him of publishing offensive content online and engaging in conduct likely to disturb public peace. However, DJ Chicken pleaded not guilty to all the charges brought against him.
The court later granted DJ Chicken bail of ₦1 million with strict conditions. One surety must be a blood relative who shares his surname. Another must be a recognised community leader or a member of the clergy. Both sureties must also provide three years of tax records and complete verification before the bail takes effect. The case has been adjourned until August 3.
As the legal battle continues, Peller’s comments have added another talking point to the growing conversation surrounding the controversial livestreamer.
