Ministry budgets N140m to supply laptops, iPads and phones to youths

The Federal Ministry of Water Resources and Sanitation has budgeted N140 million to provide laptops, iPads and Android phones to youths in Fufore/Song Federal Constituency of Adamawa State.

The 2026 budget shows that the project will strengthen beneficiaries’ information and communication technology (ICT) skills.

TheCable reviewed the budget document and reported that the ministry included the project in its 2026 spending plan.

Ministry funds ICT and community projects

The ministry also allocated N10.5 million to rehabilitate the water supply at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Eleke Nowasi Obohia, Ahiazu Mbaise Local Government Area of Imo State.

It set aside N28 million to maintain hydrometeorological stations within its jurisdiction.

In addition, the ministry approved N1.4 million to support women farmers across the authority’s catchment area.

Adamawa projects receive funding

The ministry allocated N49 million to build a 1,000-seat town hall in Jada, Adamawa State.

It also approved N210 million to renovate and furnish selected primary and secondary schools across Fufore/Song Federal Constituency.

Furthermore, it budgeted N140 million to construct examination centres in selected schools within the constituency.

The budget also provides N70 million to build police staff quarters in Malabu community, Fufore Local Government Area.

Kano and Taraba benefit from allocations

The ministry budgeted N140 million to construct a block of two classrooms in selected communities in Takai/Sumaila Federal Constituency of Kano State.

The project includes furniture, instructional materials and a hand-pump borehole.

Meanwhile, the ministry allocated N70 million to reconstruct the Cottage Hospital in Garba Chede, Bali Local Government Area of Taraba State.

It also approved N21 million to build and furnish a town hall in Gashaka Local Government Area.

Another N36.4 million will fund the construction of National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) quarters in Gassol town.

Additionally, the ministry budgeted N31.5 million for ICT development projects.

President Bola Tinubu signed the N68.32 trillion 2026 Appropriation Bill into law on April 17, paving the way for the implementation of projects contained in the national budget.
