Chocolate City Takes Odumodublvck to Court
Nigerian rapper Odumodublvck is now facing a lawsuit from Chocolate City Limited over an alleged assault at the 2025 Flytime Festival in Lagos.
Court documents show that Chocolate City employee, Tochukwugbubemi Ojogwe, filed the case at the Lagos State High Court. The incident allegedly happened on December 22, 2025, backstage at the Eko Convention Centre during the popular music festival.
According to the claimant, he was at the event in an official capacity. He described himself as
“a Nigerian citizen, a professional Project Manager and public relations officer… whose livelihood and professional reputation depends on his physical safety, emotional well-being, and ability to perform professional obligations without intimidation or violence.”
What the Court Documents Claim
The claimant said he was backstage with a Chocolate City artiste, security personnel, and other accredited officials when the incident happened.
According to the court filing, Odumodublvck first approached him casually. The rapper allegedly asked whether it was him or his brother who worked at Chocolate City.
However, the conversation reportedly changed within moments.
“The Claimant avers that without any provocation, justification, or lawful excuse whatsoever, the Defendant forcefully struck the Claimant in the face and immediately thereafter pushed him,” the court document stated.
The full details of the alleged altercation have not been made public. The court is expected to examine the evidence from both sides.
₦54.5 Million Compensation SoughtThe claimant is asking the court to award ₦54.5 million in damages.
He wants ₦4.5 million to cover medical consultations, medication, scans, transportation, and other treatment costs. He also seeks ₦50 million for alleged financial losses.
According to the filing, the injuries came during the festive season, which is one of the busiest periods in the entertainment industry.
The claimant also said he missed important work opportunities because of the incident. He claimed he could not travel abroad with a Chocolate City artiste for scheduled engagements.
“The Claimant avers that the total financial loss suffered during this period amounts to the sum of N50,000,000.00… representing income from delayed project deliverables, estimated loss of productivity, and missed engagements.”
Emotional Distress and Awaiting Odumodublvck’s Response
Beyond financial losses, the claimant said the alleged assault caused physical pain, emotional distress, embarrassment, and damage to his reputation.
He also claimed the incident affected his confidence and professional growth. According to the filing, he still requires therapy because of the emotional impact.
In addition, the claimant alleged that
“the Defendant’s conduct was high-handed, malicious, and calculated to intimidate and demean him,”
adding that the rapper
“has shown no remorse whatsoever.”
His lawyers reportedly sent a demand letter before filing the lawsuit.
As of the time of this report, Odumodublvck has not publicly responded to the allegations. The case will now proceed before the Lagos State High Court, where both parties will have the opportunity to present their evidence.
