EFCC Declares Ex-Minister Sylva Wanted Over $14.8M Fraud

Nigeria’s anti-graft agency strikes again. The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission declared Timipre Sylva wanted, former Bayelsa State governor and former Minister of State for Petroleum Resources. In fact this move has shocked political circles.

Serious Charges Surface

The EFCC charged Sylva with conspiracy and dishonest conversion. Additionally the money involved in this case is $14,859,257. It was received from the NCDMB. Its officials infused it into Atlantic International Refinery and Petrochemical Limited. However the money disappeared without constructing the refinery.
