NDLEA Arrests Wanted Drug Baron, Recovers Huge Drugs in Lagos

Authorities from the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency arrested Frank Ibemesi, a 42 year old wanted drug baron known as Chisco Bee. They captured him at his Daisy Garden Hotel in Isolo, Lagos, on November 15, 2025. Agents acted after weeks of intelligence gathering and surveillance.

Ibemesi resisted initially but surrendered. Officers then raided his nearby warehouse. There they discovered massive amounts of illegal substances.

Seized Drugs and Cash

NDLEA recovered 42 jumbo bags and four cartons of Loud, a potent cannabis strain. The total weight reached 1,762.8 kilograms. This haul represents a significant blow to drug networks.

Agents seized foreign currencies at the arrest site. They found 11,600 US dollars, 2,000 British pounds, 2,200 euros, and 50 Canadian dollars in cash. These funds likely supported Ibemesi’s operations. Ibemesi posed as a legitimate businessman and hotelier. He ran Franc CJ Ibemesi Nig. Ltd. to cover his illicit activities.

Broader Impact on Drug Seizures

Meanwhile NDLEA expanded efforts across Nigeria. They thwarted a syndicate in Osun state and seized 11,135 kilograms of skunk from two trucks. Seven suspects faced arrest there.

In Edo state, officers recovered 1,902.1 kilograms of skunk from various locations. They nabbed two drivers during these operations. Other states like Ogun, Taraba, Adamawa, Nasarawa, Lagos and Kwara saw similar busts. NDLEA seized over 14,440 kilograms of skunk nationwide in recent days.

Community and Leadership Response

Furthermore NDLEA conducted awareness programs in schools and communities. They educated people on drug dangers. Moreover chairman Buba Marwa praised the officers. He urged them to intensify the fight against drugs. This arrest boosts morale in the ongoing war.
