32 AAUA First Class Graduates to Receive Automatic Employment

The Vice-Chancellor of Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba-Akoko (AAUA), Ondo State, Prof. Olugbenga Ige, has announced that AAUA first class graduates will receive automatic employment as graduate assistants. The offer applies to 32 outstanding students who earned first-class honours during the 2025/2026 academic session.

Prof. Ige said the retention initiative aligns with the institution’s tradition of rewarding excellence. The graduates, he noted, may take up positions after completing their National Youth Service Corps if they choose to remain with the university.

“The university has a policy to give automatic employment to its best graduates,” he said. “So, the 32 First Class graduates can get the opportunity if they are willing after their NYSC programme.”

Breakdown of Academic Results

A total of 5,799 students completed various programmes during the session. Of these, 5,251 were undergraduate students. Thirty-two finished with first-class degrees, 1,444 graduated with second class upper division, 3,177 earned second class lower division, 582 completed with third class, and 16 received pass degrees.

Additionally, 526 postgraduate students also graduated. Thirty-two earned PhD degrees, 492 received master’s degrees, while two completed postgraduate diplomas.

Convocation Activities and Institutional Progress

Ahead of the convocation ceremony, the Vice-Chancellor announced that former University of Ibadan Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Idowu Olayinka, will deliver the lecture. He also highlighted that AAUA has continued to maintain 100% accreditation for all academic programmes from the National Universities Commission.

Prof. Ige added that his administration prioritised staff training and professional development. He noted that the university had recorded significant progress in infrastructure despite financial challenges affecting the education sector.

He expressed gratitude to staff unions for their cooperation. According to him, their support contributed to a peaceful environment and smooth academic operations.
