The Lagos State Government has announced the cancellation of the 2025 Greater Lagos Fiesta, which was scheduled to hold on December 31, 2025. The state government confirmed the decision on Tuesday.
The announcement came through a post by the Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Gboyega Akosile, on his official X account.
Sanwo-Olu Directs Focus on Prayers
Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, who approved the cancellation, directed residents to dedicate the day to personal prayers. He urged Lagosians to pray for the nation, the state, and the overall well-being of the people.
Furthermore, Akosile encouraged residents to pray for continued prosperity, peace, leadership, productivity, and stability across Lagos State.
Governor Sends New Year Message
In his message, Governor Sanwo-Olu wished Lagosians a happy and prosperous 2026. He expressed optimism about the year ahead and urged residents to continue living in peace and harmony.
