Rivers APC: We’ll Obey Wike’s 2027 Directives

The Rivers APC leadership in Ahoada West Local Government Area has declared that it will obey any political directives issued by Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, ahead of the 2027 general elections. Party leaders said they remain firmly aligned with Wike because of his political influence and record in the state.

The chairman of the All Progressives Congress in Ahoada West, Rejoice Otobo, made the declaration during Wike’s “thank you” visit to the area on Sunday. According to him, party members have resolved to stand by Wike’s decisions on Rivers State politics.

Rivers APC leaders vow to follow Wike’s direction

Otobo said the party’s position reflects a collective agreement among residents of the local government. He stressed that loyalty to Wike remains non-negotiable as political preparations for 2027 gather pace.

“We await instructions from you on the 2027 elections concerning Rivers State. Wherever you ask us to go, there we shall go; whatever you ask us to do is what we will do,” Otobo said.

He added that the resolve cut across all segments of the community. “All the good and the bad people of the LGA have decided that where you want us to go is where we will go,” he said.

PDP, support groups also back Wike

Similarly, the chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party in the area, Ikechukwu Obuzor, pledged loyalty to Wike. He said the former Rivers governor had restored hope and confidence among the people.

“I want to say that we are standing firm with you. Wherever you go, we will go. Be rest assured, come 2027, Ahoada West will deliver the needed results for you,” Obuzor said.

Earlier, the chairman of Ahoada Local Government Council, Chita Eugene, described Wike as the political field marshal of the South-South. He praised Wike for attracting major development projects to Rivers State, adding that the visit symbolised effective leadership.

Wike rules out second term for Fubara

The lawmaker representing Ahoada West/Ogba-Egbema/Ndoni Federal Constituency, Victor Obuzor, also urged residents to support Wike, citing his achievements and political impact. In addition, the Seyi Tinubu Support Group, led by Chidi Amadi, pledged support for Wike and President Bola Tinubu’s re-election bid.

Speaking at the event, Wike thanked the people for their support during the 2023 elections. He said Rivers State lost national respect due to poor leadership. Therefore, he insisted that Governor Siminalayi Fubara should not secure a second term. According to him, the state must correct its leadership direction in 2027 to restore political stability and progress.
