Nollywood actress and filmmaker Angela Eguavoen has shared her thoughts on men and infidelity.
The actress said she strongly believes that all men cheat. However, she admitted that the belief also helps her prepare for possible heartbreak.
Speaking in an interview with PUNCH, Eguavoen said men often challenge her whenever she makes the claim.
“I strongly believe that all men cheat,” she said. “Whenever I say that, the men will say, ‘It is not all men.’”
According to the actress, her belief serves as emotional protection. She said it would help her cope if she discovered that her partner had been unfaithful.
“I think it is a belief I use to console myself just in case I am in a relationship and suddenly find out that the person I am dating is cheating,” she explained.
Meanwhile, Eguavoen said she would not respond to cheating with violence or revenge. She stressed that she would avoid doing anything she might later regret.
“I would not kill or hurt him, and I would not do anything I would regret,” she said.
However, the actress said cheating partners should show some level of respect. In her view, a man who cheats should avoid making his partner feel humiliated.
“I believe all men cheat, but if you are going to cheat, do not rub it in your woman’s face,” she said.
“Just show her respect. That is one of the biggest forms of respect a man can offer his wife or girlfriend.”
Her comments have since added another perspective to the ongoing conversations about love, trust and infidelity in relationships.
