The influencer brothers were detained in the US after British prosecutors announced fresh criminal charges and requested their extradition.
Andrew Tate and his brother, Tristan Tate, have been arrested in the United States after the UK’s Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) filed new criminal charges against them and requested their extradition to Britain.
Andrew Tate faces seven additional rape charges, alongside allegations of sex trafficking and possessing indecent images of a child. Tristan Tate has been charged with one count of sexual assault, two counts of rape and three counts of arranging or facilitating trafficking for sexual exploitation. Prosecutors said the alleged offences took place between 2010 and 2017 and involve seven alleged victims.
UK Seeks Extradition of Tate Brothers
The US Marshals confirmed the brothers were taken into custody as part of extradition proceedings. The US Department of Justice also confirmed the arrests were linked to the UK’s extradition request.
Although the Tate brothers have denied all allegations. Their lawyer described the new charges as politically motivated and said they would challenge the extradition request in court.
However, Andrew Tate’s arrest case is expected to move into extradition proceedings as UK authorities seek to bring the brothers back to face trial.
