BREAKING NEWS: Liverpool Part Ways With Arne Slot

Liverpool have confirmed that manager Arne Slot has left the club with immediate effect.

Liverpool announced earlier that Arne Slot has departed Anfield after a difficult 2025-26 campaign. The decision comes after mounting pressure on the Dutch coach following an underwhelming season that saw the Reds finish fifth in the Premier League.

Slot joined Liverpool in 2024 and initially guided the club through a period of transition. However, results this season fell below expectations, leading the club to make a managerial change ahead of the new campaign.

“Liverpool FC can confirm Arne Slot is to depart his role as head coach with immediate effect and that the process to appoint a successor is under way.” Having joined the club in June 2024, Arne went on to deliver our 20th league title in his first season in charge, ending the 2024-25 campaign as LMA Manager of the Year having also guided the team to the Carabao Cup final and the last 16 of the Champions League.” He subsequently oversaw Champions League qualification for a second successive season in 2025-26 as the Reds also reached the quarter-finals of the same competition.”

In a joint statement, Liverpool’s ownership underlined its appreciation for the success Arne brought to the club and also the leadership displayed in his two years in charge.

Andoni Iraola has emerged as the leading candidate to replace Slot, although Liverpool have yet to confirm a successor.

The club is expected to provide further details on the managerial transition in the coming days.
