Arsenal reach Champions League final after Saka goal

Bukayo Saka’s decisive goal sends Arsenal to their first final in 20 years.

Arsenal FC have booked a place in the UEFA Champions League final after a 1-0 win over Atletico Madrid at the Emirates Stadium. Bukayo Saka scored the only goal of the match, sealing a 2-1 aggregate victory in a tense semi-final clash.

The breakthrough came just before half-time when Atletico goalkeeper Jan Oblak spilled a shot into Saka’s path, allowing the winger to finish from close range. The second half saw increased pressure from the visitors, but Arsenal held firm to secure a historic win under Mikel Arteta.

The result marks Arsenal’s first Champions League final appearance since 2006. The tie had been finely balanced after the first leg in Madrid ended level, with both teams showing defensive discipline and limited chances across the two matches.

Atletico had a key opportunity to equalise after a defensive error, but failed to convert, allowing Arsenal to maintain control and see out the result. The victory puts the Premier League side one win away from their first-ever European Cup title.

Arsenal will now travel to Budapest for the final, aiming to complete a memorable European campaign.
