Davido’s sister, Sharon Ademefun, has revealed how she helps manage the singer’s finances and control his luxury spending. She made this known during an interview on The Morayo Show hosted by television host Morayo Afolabi-Brown.
Ademefun serves as the Chief Financial Officer of Davido Music Worldwide. She said she holds weekly finance meetings with the Afrobeats star to keep track of his spending.
“Me and Davido sit and have a finance meeting every week because I think it is important for him to know how his money is being spent,” she said.
Ademefun also admitted that controlling Davido’s spending can be difficult.
“David, please, no more cars,” she said, explaining how she often warns him against buying more luxury cars and jewellery.
Despite her warnings, Davido still finds ways to surprise her with new purchases. Ademefun said she can discover his latest acquisitions online.
“24 hours later, you know how they normally say it, ‘2 to 3 business days’, I’ll just see on the blogs. This latest car,” she said.
She also revealed that her involvement in Davido’s career dates back to its early days. Their professional relationship grew from her previous role within his management team. However, working with her brother has not always been smooth.
“If other people can’t tell him, me I’ll tell him,” she said.
Meanwhile, Ademefun said Davido has a management team that handles his daily operations. She sometimes steps in when cost-cutting decisions could affect his comfort.
“If you book him on an airline that doesn’t have a good first class, he can get to the airport and say, ‘Yeah, if you want me to go to an event, buy first class’,” she explained.
She also confirmed that she signed a non-disclosure agreement about Davido’s wealth.
“I can’t confirm or deny!” she said when asked if she knows the details of his finances.
Beyond Davido’s finances, Ademefun also spoke about her clothing business, Body Politics. She said she started the brand after struggling to find suitable clothes for different body types. The business offers sizes from XXS to 5XL. However, she said she wants to grow carefully instead of expanding too quickly.
“I think the next big thing is to do what I’m doing better,” she said.
Ademefun added that fans can expect more pop-ups and wider availability from the brand.
