Davido and Dangote Light Up Times Square as Refinery IPO Takes Global Spotlight

Davido meets Aliko Dangote in New York as the Dangote Refinery IPO campaign gains global attention at Times Square.

Nigerian music star David Adeleke, better known as Davido, has shared photos from his recent meeting with billionaire businessman Aliko Dangote in New York.

The singer met Dangote at Times Square as the Dangote Petroleum Refinery and Petrochemicals’ Initial Public Offering (IPO) gained global attention. A Nasdaq digital billboard displayed the refinery’s campaign message,

“Made in Nigeria. Built for the World.”

Davido later shared highlights from the meeting on Instagram on Thursday. He said he had questions for Dangote and described the businessman as someone with the answers. The singer also reflected on their conversation about ambition and business.

“When two generations of Nigerian ambition meet, the conversation is worth listening to,” he wrote.

Meanwhile, the refinery’s public offer opened on September 14 and will close on October 13, 2026. The offer includes 4.1 billion ordinary shares at N525 per share. Investors can subscribe for a minimum of 10 shares. The campaign has also taken the refinery’s message beyond Nigeria.

Davido’s latest post comes two days after he shared a video from Times Square. In the clip, he stood beside Dangote beneath the Nasdaq billboard. The moment quickly drew attention online, bringing music, business and Nigerian ambition into one picture.
