Davido Fires Back at Edo Governor After Adeleke Dancing Mockery

Singer Davido has reacted after Edo State Governor, Monday Okpebholo, took a swipe at his uncle, Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke. The exchange has quickly become one of the hottest talking points online. Fans are now debating the political drama across different social media platforms.

The drama started on Thursday, August 6, during an All Progressives Congress (APC) campaign rally ahead of the August 15 Osun governorship election. While speaking to supporters, Governor Okpebholo urged Osun voters to remove Adeleke from office. According to him, the governor spends more time dancing than working. He said Adeleke “is always dancing” instead of focusing on governance. The comment immediately sparked reactions from many Nigerians.

However, Davido was not ready to stay silent. Early Friday morning, the award-winning singer defended his uncle through his Instagram Stories. Instead of replying with words alone, he shared a screenshot allegedly showing Governor Okpebholo’s West African Examinations Council (WAEC) results. The result displayed several low grades, including D7s and E8s. Although Davido did not add a lengthy caption, the post was widely seen as a direct response to the governor’s criticism.

Meanwhile, the exchange has fueled fresh conversations online. Many users have picked sides, while others believe the focus should remain on governance instead of personal attacks. As reactions continue to pour in, the clash between Davido and Governor Okpebholo has added another layer of excitement to the build-up to the Osun governorship election.
