Funke Akindele Returns With Star-Studded Movie ‘The Four’ This December

Nollywood star Funke Akindele has announced her next movie, The Four: No One Fights Alone. The highly anticipated drama hits cinemas globally on December 11. FilmOne Entertainment will distribute the movie exclusively.

The film comes after another successful run at the box office for Akindele. She wrote, directed and produced The Four through Funke Akindele Network (FAAN TV).

The new movie explores friendship, motherhood, resilience and the strength of ordinary women. Set between Odu Community and the city, it follows Esosa and three loyal women. Together, they fight for the future of a young man they deeply love. However, their mission puts their courage, faith and loyalty to the ultimate test.

Meanwhile, The Four features a star-studded Nollywood cast. Akindele leads the cast alongside Bisola Aiyeola, Chioma Akpotha, Richard Mofe-Damijo, Timini Egbuson and Lateef Adedimeji.

Ali Nuhu, Uzor Arukwe, Ronke Oshodi Oke, Antar Laniyan and Wunmi Toriola also feature.Award-winning singer Waje and Afrobeats star Shoday join the cast. Samuel Banks, Kolapo Omotosho and Ayomide Iwasokun also make appearances.

Speaking about the movie, Akindele said audiences want stories that entertain and reflect their lives.

“With The Four, we are exploring the relationships that shape us, challenge us and stay with us,” she said.

“I think audiences will find a part of themselves in this story.”

The film also celebrates Nigerian culture through music, fashion, language and tradition. Its story focuses on hope, sacrifice and unity.

Akindele remains one of Nigeria’s biggest filmmaking forces. Her previous hits include Omo Ghetto: The Saga, Battle on Buka Street, A Tribe Called Judah and Everybody Loves Jenifa. Her movies have repeatedly broken Nigerian box-office records.

Now, fans will see if The Four delivers another major cinema moment. The movie opens exclusively in cinemas on December 11.
