Celebrity fashion designer Veekee James has responded to people questioning why her husband, Femi Atere, is always by her side. The conversation started after a social media user claimed her husband did not have “a life of his own” because he attends many events with her.
However, Veekee made it clear that she sees nothing wrong with their lifestyle. In a video shared on Snapchat, she explained that they intentionally chose to do life together.
According to Veekee, marriage is about sharing everything with your partner. She said,
“Yes, my husband does not have a life of his own. His life is my life, the same way I don’t have a life of my own. My life is his life. He is me and I am him. Together we are like padlock and key.”
She also insisted that people criticising their relationship simply do not understand what marriage means.
“When you marry your own, separate him. When you marry your own, remove him from your life and keep him somewhere else. You don’t know what marriage is. His life is mine, my life is his. Everything he is, is mine,” she added.
Despite the online reactions, Veekee said she has no plans to change how she enjoys her marriage. Instead, she promised that fans would continue seeing them together at different events.
“You’ve not seen anything. You will see me and my husband anywhere possible, everywhere possible, you will see us,” she said.
Her response has since sparked fresh conversations online, with many people sharing different opinions about couples who spend most of their time together.
To end the video on a lighter note, Veekee jokingly described her husband as her “personal handbag” while showing sweet moments of them together. While some social media users praised the couple’s close bond, others argued that every marriage should have its own style.
Even so, Veekee remains unbothered and appears determined to keep enjoying her relationship on her own terms.
