Megan Thee Stallion has opened up about her painful split from NBA star Klay Thompson. The rapper described the breakup as “very rough” in a new InStyle interview. She also admitted that she started losing herself while trying to make the relationship work.
According to Megan, she spent too much time trying to make the relationship fit.
“I was losing myself a little bit. I am now in the space of finding me again,” she said.
Her comments show how deeply the experience affected her.
Meanwhile, Megan said the breakup taught her some important lessons about love. She now sees trust, fidelity and respect as non-negotiable in any relationship.
“I cannot be disrespected. I cannot be a person who is not gonna be me. I cannot not go to work. I’m going to be Megan Thee Stallion,” she said.
Going forward, the rapper wants a relationship where both partners stand as equals. She does not want to minimise herself or take a backseat to anyone.
Megan and Thompson began dating in 2025 and went public with their relationship that July. She confirmed their split in April 2026 after accusing him of infidelity. Thompson has not publicly responded to those allegations.
