‘I will complete all projects started by my administration’ — Fubara assures Rivers people

Sim Fubara

Siminalayi Fubara, governor of Rivers state, has assured residents that his administration will complete all ongoing projects despite the political situation in the state.

Fubara spoke to journalists on Friday during the inspection of ongoing projects in the state.

Earlier, the governor withdrew from the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship primary in Rivers state, saying the decision was taken in the interest of peace and unity.

Kingsley Chinda, minority leader of the House of Representatives and ally of Nyesom Wike, was subsequently declared the winner of the APC primary.

Reacting to the outcome of the election, Fubara said his administration remains focused on governance and infrastructure delivery.

The governor explained that the bypass project was conceived to address repeated disruptions along the airport road caused by protests and blockades by host communities.

“One thing that we have promised everyone is that every good work that we have started, by the special grace of God, we’ll continue and complete them,” he said.

Fubara also dismissed suggestions that his withdrawal from the governorship primary had weakened his resolve.

“We’re in high spirits, like we always say, Rivers first.”
