The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has begun its leadership transition as outgoing Registrar, Professor Is-haq Oloyede, formally commenced the handover process to his successor, Professor Segun Aina.
The ceremony, which took place on Friday at the Board’s headquarters in Abuja, marks the beginning of a new chapter for the examination body after Oloyede’s 10-year tenure. Top government officials, members of JAMB’s management team and other stakeholders attended the event.
Aina set to assume office
Professor Aina is expected to assume office as the new Registrar after the formal transfer of authority.
He will take over the leadership of the Board with expectations that he will sustain the reforms introduced under Oloyede while addressing emerging challenges in Nigeria’s tertiary admissions system.
Oloyede reflects on his tenure
During his farewell address, Oloyede thanked President Bola Tinubu for the opportunity to serve as JAMB Registrar. He also appreciated members of staff, stakeholders and development partners for supporting the Board throughout his tenure.
Furthermore, he urged them to extend the same cooperation to Professor Aina as he assumes leadership of the institution.
Outgoing registrar highlights reforms
Oloyede said JAMB’s achievements resulted from the collective commitment, professionalism and integrity of its workforce and partners. He expressed confidence that the Board would continue to build on the reforms and innovations introduced during his administration.
The outgoing Registrar also reaffirmed his belief that JAMB would remain committed to transparency, accountability and excellence in managing Nigeria’s tertiary admissions process.
